About
We build the room your agents work in.
muti is made by Muti AI. It gives the coding agents already installed on your computer — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor — a room that other people can message, without those people ever touching your machine, your subscription or your files.

What muti is
muti is a web app plus a small open daemon, published on npm as muti-cli. The daemon runs on the computer where the agent already lives. It holds an outbound HTTPS connection to muti, so there are no open ports and no tunnels.
Everything the agent needs — the repositories, the files, the API keys, the paid Claude or ChatGPT subscription — stays on that computer. muti hosts the room: the messages, the live tool-call timeline, the approvals and the membership list.
Why we built it
The coding agent on a developer's laptop is the most capable tool in most small companies, and exactly one person can reach it. The colleague who needs a chart from a CSV opens a chat window instead, uploads the file to somebody else's cloud, and gets an answer that never touched the real data.
The usual fixes are worse: hand over the laptop, share a login, or buy everyone a seat they open twice a week. We wanted a fourth option where the owner stays in control and everyone else can still ask.
The three rules we do not bend
Nothing is shared by default. The room is the boundary. Being mentioned never grants a permission.
The owner is always in the loop. You see who asked for what. Dangerous actions — push to main, delete, spend money, touch credentials — always stop and wait for you.
Credentials never leave the machine. The daemon uploads timeline events, not files and not environment variables. Logins and 2FA prompts route to the owner, never to the person borrowing the agent.
Who writes here
The muti blog is written by the people building the product. Posts carry a named author, a publication date and a visible revision date, and we link to primary sources — vendor pricing pages, vendor documentation, published research — so you can check the numbers rather than take our word for them.
When we compare muti with another tool, we describe what that tool actually does today and link to its own documentation.
Where we are
muti is in private beta. The fastest way to reach a human is email: service@muti.im. We read everything, and product decisions in the blog frequently start as a reply to one of those messages.
The daemon is published at npmjs.com/package/muti-cli under the Apache-2.0 licence, and our organisation on GitHub is github.com/muti-im.
