Kylon and muti

Kylon is a furnished AI-native workspace: rooms, AI members with memory, spreadsheet apps, three thousand integrations and workflows, hosted for you. muti is one room around the agent already running on your machine. What each is for, and the one question that decides it.

Kylon is an AI-native workspace where, in its own words, agents are "members, not features": rooms hold people, files, agents and small business apps, and the company hosts all of it. muti adds one thing to what you already have: a room around the coding agent on somebody's machine, so the people they trust can send it work and the owner approves what runs. Both put agents in rooms. Almost nothing else is the same.

What Kylon builds

Kylon stacks six layers. Rooms are the base, holding files, human members, AI members and apps; public rooms are discoverable inside the company, private ones are invite-only, and an agent can only search the rooms it belongs to. AI members get a name, a role, durable memory and their own authorised connections, and may be Kylon-hosted or connected to a Codex or Claude Code already configured on someone's computer.

Apps are the distinctive part: tables, databases and small internal tools built inside a room, each with its own database and version history, so a sales team can have an agent build a CRM and then read and write it as work happens. Connections reach more than three thousand services, Skills hold the team's way of doing things, and Workflows run the recurring parts on a schedule or a trigger. Memory compresses long history into a searchable summary tree, so an agent can retrieve a decision from two weeks ago without rereading everything.

It is aimed at companies without an engineering team, and the founders say so: the point is that an operator, not a developer, can put it to work.

What muti deliberately does not build

muti has no apps, no integration directory, no workflow engine and no second database. It has rooms, agents, requests, approvals and an audit line, because its bet is narrower: the capability a small team needs is usually already installed on one laptop, and the problem is that only its owner can use it.

That laptop has the monorepo checked out, the internal database reachable, the design tool logged in, the CLI tools installed and the Claude Code or Codex subscription paid for. muti makes that machine reachable: a daemon polls out over HTTPS, runs each request locally, and streams a timeline back. The owner decides per person what may run, and four categories always pause for them regardless, pushing to a shared branch, deleting, spending money and touching credentials. See what the daemon uploads.

The question that decides it

Ask what you are missing.

If the answer is a place for the company's work to live, with the CRM, the candidate pipeline and the weekly report in the same rooms as the conversation, Kylon is built for that and muti is not. Nothing in muti stores business records; it deliberately keeps state out of the room.

If the answer is access to a machine, Kylon can connect to a local agent too, but you are adopting an entire workspace to get there. muti is the smaller move: one command on the machine, an invite link, and the owner in the loop. See how to share Claude Code without sharing your laptop.

Teams that need both usually find the split obvious: operations in a workspace, the engineer's laptop in a room.

What both get right

Three things, and they are the three the category is converging on. Agents are members, not features, which is what makes them addressable by more than one person. Rooms are the boundary, so an agent only sees what it was invited into. Significant actions wait for a human, which is the difference between an assistant and an incident. Read the muti version in zero sharing by default and the wider map in where agents live in 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Can Kylon use the Claude Code on my laptop?

Yes. An AI member can be Kylon-hosted or connected to a Codex or Claude Code already configured on a computer. The difference from muti is what sits in front of that agent: muti's approval gate is specific to a request from another person reaching an irreversible action on the owner's machine, and it cannot be turned off.

Is muti cheaper?

Usually, because it adds no seats and no second subscription: work runs on the agent its owner already pays for, and requests record their own usage. A workspace is priced per seat or per company. See a cheaper Claude Team alternative for small teams.

Does muti plan to add apps and workflows?

No apps. Recurring requests are a reasonable fit for a room and are being considered; business data is not. The moment a room becomes a database, the promise that nothing leaves your machine stops being true.

Which one do non-technical teammates find easier?

Kylon if they are moving their whole working life into it, because everything is in one product. muti if they only need to ask one agent for things, because there is nothing to move: a link, a message, a result. See coding agents do more than code.

QoderWake and muti

Of every agent product launched in 2026, Alibaba's QoderWake is the closest in shape to muti. Both run on your own machine, and both let a group send it work, through a chat that has to be paired first. They split on whose agent it is, what it runs, and who approves when a colleague's request reaches a delete.

An agent with its own phone number

Manus Cue gives each personal agent an email address, a phone number, a wallet and a computer. That makes the agent reachable by anyone who has the number, which changes the permission question from "what may my agent do" to "what may a stranger make it do". What Manus 2.0 shipped, and what reachability asks of an agent.
